Apparently, it is within Magistrate Shirk's power to free heroin dealers on PR bonds after they were held WITHOUT BOND until arraignment. He was filling in for the judge according to HDN. WTF is going on here? Out of town heroin dealers with guns...fly free. Fly free and far!
This can only end well, I'm sure. </sarcasm>

If I were one of the LEOs involved in busting those guys I'd be really POed that they were let go!
What I find most intriguing here is that Shirk was filling in for Lisznyai, a signee of the judicial order against P.A. Brady which was predicated upon his practice of doing exactly this, and this didn't even include the addition of a work program. We know that the reason for the divide between Brady and Smith, who led that charge, is philosophical along the lines of being tough on crime, so you have to wonder: while filling in for a judge who by evidence of her own signature sides with Smith, what exactly was going on in Shirk's head when he did this? What was his rationale? What was his motive? Because it certainly wasn't prosecuting the two for their crime.

This whole thing is bs...... bail should have been set HIGH!
when these things happen we can be sure there are informants involved
<p>Haley</p>
Unfortunately there isn't anything close to a investigative reporter for the HDN, so the story just leaves you hanging in the air, in the middle of August it implies it should be followed up on before the month's end, but if it was, we heard nothing.
So, did they guys just fly back to Jackson and 'disapprear', did they come back and find out what was behind door #2? Were they actually Brady and Lisznyai in an undercover sting operation?
Inquiring minds want to know.
