Community Complaints Take Center Stage At Tuesday Night Meeting

With all members present except for Councilperson Emily Stack-Davis (who was excused), Tuesday night's regular meeting of the Hillsdale City Council -- a day later than the norm due to Labor Day -- was punctuated by voices from the community on several issues, both pertaining to and separate from the items that were on the agenda.

City Chooses New Law Firm

With the retirement of Lew Loren effective on August 15th, the City of Hillsdale sent out a request for qualifications and bids from law firms to replace the former City Attorney, and at Monday night's regular City Council meeting, a new firm was selected.

It was, throughout, a contentious dialog at the Hillsdale City Council's regular meeting Monday night, and it resulted in several pointed ultimatums from the governing body to the executive employees who work for it.
